‘American Idol’ notes: Phillip Phillips, Haley Reinhart, Adam Lambert

There’s really quite a bit happening all of a sudden when it comes to the world of “American Idol,” so let’s try to fit it all in with this new edition of show notes.

Phillips meets some of his heroes – For a good chunk of season 11, Phillip Phillips had to deal with some pretty non-stop comments about his fondness for the Dave Matthews Band, especially when it came to some of their musical similarities.

Lucky for Phillip, he just had an opportunity to spend a few minutes with some of the group’s members. In a post on Twitter, here was what he had to say about the brief meeting:

“Got to meet¬†@bt_dmb¬†this a.m. at breakfast then dave matthews a couple minutes ago ha such cool guys”

Even though it has been less than two months since Phillips on the show — and one of these months was spent recovering from surgery — the man has already done quite a bit. He performed as a part of a special event in Washington, sang at the MLB All-Star Game, and is also currently seeing his single “Home” climb up the charts.

Haley speaks out – Haley Reinhart returned to her home state of Illinois this week for a very special reason — getting an opportunity to take part in the audition process for season 12 and promote that the event was going on.

Speaking to some members of the local media, she tried to sum up what the experience was like for her back when she first tried out:

“Standing in a line, you know, just being a hopeful dreamer. Knowing how it turned out, I’m so excited for everybody here, especially Chicago, one of the greatest cities — is the greatest city. The support system here is like no other.”

Another Adam Lambert video – Finally, we have a link to some more information of Adam Lambert chatting about his current mini-tour with Queen, and also some of the rumors that he could end up becoming a judge for next season (which seems more likely than ever considering that Steven Tyler is leaving).

There’s not much in the way of new content when it comes to this interview with the Associated Press, but it’s still entertaining to watch — and we’re totally digging Adam’s shades. He did reiterate that he is interested in taking on the position, but we still have to see where the chips fall.
