The quiet period in the world of “American Idol” continues, but at least on this Wednesday morning edition of the notes we have a video to share, a promise of some future performances, and an interview featuring the wonderful (and even underrated?) Joshua Ledet.
Phillip performs “Home” at the All-Star Game -It’s pretty funny that Phillip Phillips’ coronation song “Home” is really only a month of a half old, and it is already being turned into some sort of patriotic anthem. Before the MLB All-Star Game on Tuesday night, Phillip performed the song prior to the National Anthem, and the song was even introduced as a tribute to America’s spirit.
Once again, Phillip gave a pretty great performance of the song — though we do still wish that he would sing the word “home” rather than shout it at the end of his verses. It loses a little bit of its impact that way, and when he did actually sing it later in the performance, it was clearly the most effective.
Carrie Underwood to perform on “Today” – This is just a brief announcement, but NBC has confirmed that the season 4 winner will be coming to their morning show on August 15 as a part of their Summer Concert Series. What an easy way to get some added publicity for her album “Blown Away,” and to perform in front of thousands of fans in New York City.
Joshua’s advice to New Orleans hopefuls – Season 12, regardless of their judging search, is still holding open auditions — and this week, that has led to the show arriving in New Orleans, Louisiana. Considering that Joshua Ledet hails from Westlake in the state, he seems like the perfect person to get some sort of advice from, right?
In a statement via Fox to NOLA.com, Joshua (who, like Phillip, is currently touring around the country) kept his suggestion pretty to the point:
“Stay focused and sing from your heart. Don’t be intimidated by everyone else. And choose the right songs!”
