Black Sails was also the star for Starz and all of a sudden in the middle of season 4 Starz announced season 4 was the end. So far as I recall Starz hasn’t committed to more than 4 seasons of anything.
I love the books and especially Claire and Jamie but this season seemed like things were just skimmed over. They removed book story lines and characters and used crap from each episode’s writer. We lost the serial killer Rev Campbell to some silly fortune teller nonsense. And what a waste of time during the episode with the ship mutiny because someone didn’t touch a horse shoe for luck as they got on the ship.
Someone is killing Outlander and his initials are RDM.
Not expecting to see a season 5 if the show keeps on its artistic license course of not following the book. Makes me sad but will continue to watch hoping things will get back on course in season 4.

In reply to Mary Auld. I agree all the books are about Jamie and Claire adventures and their relationship together, their love and endurance while adding adventure. I disagree that viewers could lose interest, once an Outlander fan always an Outlander fan.

I am very hopeful that Stars will continue to renew Outlander through all the Outlander books. It is wonderful to finally have a visual of the books I have read for years. I am now re-reading the books and can hear Jamie and Claire talking while reading, a voice to my reading. The love that Jamie and Claire share is wonderful, giving a hope to endless love between two people. I love watching Outlander and watching Jamie and Claire through their various issues and the paths the story takes them.

So happy to hear that Outlander will continue.
After having read the books years ago, this is such a great series to see in living color.
And… Who doesn’t love “Jamie and Claire”?
The whole Outlander gang fast becomes like family!

There’s no one specific person, alas. Often writers/producers aren’t able to read any potential scripts, especially if they’re spec scripts for a show that they already work on since it presents a minefield of problems. My advice is to check out the Splitsider piece below that offers some advice on pilot scripts. I’m not well-versed in the area and I don’t want to send you down the right path.

matt, i checked out the disqus site but found no way to to post that question. so i’ll just have to accept their current way of posting quotes from articles or paraphrase rather than quoting.
i have a question for you: do you know of any producer or other entertainment professional whom one might contact about scripts for consideration as film or tv production? this is not for me but for someone i know who has written several promising sci-fi scripts.
