We have seen tough decisions go down on “The Bachelorette” time and time again over the years, but have we ever seen one decision as hard as the one that Emily Maynard made on Monday night? We’re not sure. Jef Holm, Arie Luyendyk Jr., and Sean Lowe all brought something special to the table, and it’s pretty clear at this point that she has something rather special with each one of them.
Sean Lowe – With Sean, she has the guy who could have a strong, real connection with forever, He’s the guy who has the most in common with Emily when it comes to her values, and the two just have a pretty natural rapport that showed on their date.
Jef Holm – With Jef, there’s almost a little bit of the thrill of the unknown. He’s an unlikely choice, but a sweet one — he’s the most caring guy that we have ever seen on the show, and he genuinely loves both her and her daughter. Are there some differences there? Sure, but differences can also be strengths.
Arie Luyendyk Jr. – Then, there’s Arie. If Emily was just picking based on physical attraction, this would probably be her man in a second. As a matter of fact, she finds Arie so gorgeous that she cannot even allow him in on an overnight date in fear that she would embarrass herself on TV.
By the time her three dates in Curacao were done, Emily was so torn about her decision that she was in tears. She knew that all three of the guys cared for her, and she seems to care for them too. We understand that she had to take a lot of time making this decision … but did we really need to watch half an hour of this? The final three episodes are the ones that feel like they are about an hour too long, as we are forced to watch Emily express her same fears again and again and again. Less crying, and more beautiful nature shots, please!
Rather than list the two men who are staying, we may as well cut to the chase — this marked the end for Sean. In giving Jef and Arie her roses, the final two are set, and each one of them brings totally different things to the table. We will talk more about these two later in the week, but for now let’s just address the elimination. How sad was this? It started off strange when Emily asked him to sit down and then didn’t say anything to him, and it only got stranger as Sean ended up being the person who was comforting Emily. Wait … who just got eliminated here? It wasn’t that Emily was being a jerk, but Sean was just internalizing everything until he jumped into the limo of tears and sorrow and was sent on his way.
While it may take Sean a while to get over this, we have a feeling that he is going to be just fine when it comes to finding hundreds of prospective girlfriends all over Texas.
