I dunno. They have been on the ‘make Jackson miserable’ train since last year. The poor guy just doesn’t get any respite. First he starts mutating into a monster, then the girl he loves dies, then he finds out his father caused his and his mother’s mutation, finds out his mother has become a monster and has to kill her, finds his father and then is betrayed by him again only for him to die as well. Now he’s a wanted fugitive and the new girl in his life hates his real identity and his sister is now trying to kill him and do god knows what else. It’s a miracle he hasn’t just flung himself off a cliff yet. Everyone else’s misery seems more measured in comparison though I guess Mitch now has something to compare to Jackson.
