Even though production for season 4 of “The Vampire Diaries” is just now starting up, the scripts are coming along rather nicely. After all, the second episode of the season looks like it has now been delivered!
In a new post on Twitter, executive producer Julie Plec confirmed the news with the following message:
It’s particularly nice to see that the show is continually bringing in some new writers with fresh ideas, while at the same time keeping around some familiar faces who know the show backwards and forwards. This combination is one of the ways that the series can continue to stay fresh, and not repeat some of the same stories that we have already seen play out time and time again.
What is particularly notable about this episode is that it will supposedly mark the debut of Connor, a new vampire hunter who could serve as one of the primary villains during one of the early parts of this season. After all, Klaus is going to be preoccupied being stuck inside Tyler’s body, and with Elena turning into a vampire she will be joining the Salvatore brothers as someone who could be in serious trouble here. The plan is for Connor to stick around for a while, but we don’t know if he will be a season-long arc or just a character who is a part of a handful of episodes.
Season 4 of “The Vampire Diaries” premieres on The CW on Thursday, October 11, and we have a feeling we will get way more when it comes to details after the show holds its annual Comic-Con panel next week. Until that time, be sure to check out some of our other season 4 scoop for the show, and share your thoughts with a comment below.
