NBC’s ‘The Office’ star Ellie Kemper marries ex-Conan O’Brien writer

Mrs. Carter: She’s already been a “Bridesmaid” … now she’s a bride!

After being together for several years, People Magazine confirmed on Saturday that “The Office” star Ellie Kemper — who broke out on the big screen last year courtesy of “Bridesmaids — married writer Michael Koman in a ceremony in New York City. Among the guests for the big event were Kemper’s “Bridesmaids” co-star Kristen Wiig, and Mindy Kaling — who, until her announced exit from the NBC show earlier this year, was a partner-in-crime of sorts for her character of Erin.

Koman is best known as a writer who spent many years with Conan O’Brien on his “Late Night” show, and he has also written for “The Colbert Report” and “MadTV.” Most recently, he created the series “Eagleheart” starring character actor Chris Elliott. The only time he and his now-wife ever crossed paths in terms of their career was back in 2009, when they were each a part of “Important Things with Demetri Martin” — a short-lived series on Comedy Central. However, Kemper did confirm her her engagement to Korman on an episode of “Conan” late last year.

So could Erin on “The Office” also tie the knot soon? It’s a possibility, but it’s probably best not to just too far ahead of ourselves here. We are only now just getting to see her and Ed Helms’ character of Andy together, and even though these two may be rather reckless when it comes to spur-of-the-moment decisions, we at least figure they will take some time before taking the leap to the next stage of their relationship.

Congratulations to the happy couple! If you want more “Office” scoop on the fall season, be sure to check out some of our other stories.
