Have her job fall through in New York, or she decides to stay, they get married, and she’s his off screen wife working somewhere else in the department or FBI in Chicago. If the actress ever decides to come back, she simply returns to Intelligence. I certainly don’t want to see him with another love interest, or mopey. Put them back together, even though she will be his rarely seen girlfriend or wife.
