‘American Idol’ tour reaction: Skylar Laine, Colton Dixon, and more

As you may know by now, Friday night marked the beginning of the “American Idol” tour in Detroit, Michigan. It was a show that brought plenty of energy, hours of performances, and also Colton Dixon and Phillip Phillips performing some original songs. (You can hear Colton’s new “Never Gone” at the bottom of this article.)

So what did some of the season 11 stars have to say about being on stage after the fact? In some posts on Twitter following the show, here were some of the top comments:

Skylar Laine – “Amazing show tonight!! On the bus in my little bunk on the way to Chicago! Goodnight y’all!! SKOUTLAWS!”

Colton Dixon – “First act was so much fun!!!!! So glad everyone liked #nevergone !!!”

Hollie Cavanagh – “Amazing first show(: so much fun! Off to our next place(: Show tomorrow night!!(: Gotta get some rest! Thanks to all that came(:#idoltour

Heejun Han – “Bye Detroit!!! Hi Chicago!!!!!!!! Wait..still in the bus…HI BUS!!!!!! And roads!!!!”

Erika Van Pelt – “Time to go to Chicago! Thanks for the warm reception Detroit! Great first show :)”

Deandre Brackensick – “Detroit show was so much fun:) off to chicago:)”

Moving forward with the tour, the one thing that we are already a little worried about is attendance. Two years ago, a number of dates were cut short at the end thanks to a lack of tickets sold — and considering that there were reportedly a number of empty seats (including a good chunk of the top deck) during the Detroit show, you already have to wonder. Granted, you could attribute this to the fact that Detroit is not exactly the wealthiest city in America, but this is something to watch in the weeks and months ahead.

Are you hitting up one of the dates later on this tour? If you want to check out the set list or some videos for the Detroit show, be sure to head on over to this link.
