In addition to the rather surprising news that we had coming in courtesy of “Anger Management’s” second week on the air, we do have some other interesting numbers coming in from the world of cable.
“Snooki & JWoww” – Considering the drop that we saw week-to-week from “The Pauly D Project,” we were actually expecting some of Snooki’s adventures with her “Jersey Shore” pal to sink like a lead balloon. However, it hasn’t quite happened.
Instead, the show managed to score once again more than 2 million viewers for its half-hour episode, and to go along with it it also posted a rating of 1.0 in the 18-49 demographic that was actually up slightly from the week before. While these may not be anywhere near close to “Jersey Shore” numbers, you have to give Snooki and JWoww some credit for having some staying power.
“Awkward” – The news for Ashley Rickards’ Jenna Hamilton was not quite so strong. Despite being from a critical standpoint the stronger show, the second episode of the season dropped close to 400,000 viewers with an overall audience of 1.76 million. In addition, its 18-49 rating of 0.7 was down two-tenths of a point from the week before. This surely does not doom the show in any way, though — these are likely the numbers that the comedy will pull all season, and if this happens we would be positively stunned to not see a renewal for season 3 coming up in the weeks ahead.
