Has “Live! with Kelly” finally discovered a new co-host? It’s been eight months since the departure of Regis Philbin, but the morning talk show has at least narrowed down its field of candidates do just three people — though one of them is the heavy favorite.
Seth Meyers – According to Showbiz411, the “Saturday Night Live” writer and “Weekend Undate” host is currently leading the pack, and we understand why. He’s obviously got a great sense of humor, can report the news without any problem, and is accessible enough to appeal to a pretty wide audience.
If Meyers does end up getting the job, it would mean that he would probably step down from “SNL” as a writer, though the report suggests that he would continue to hold his “Weekend Update” post for at least the foreseeable future.
Michael Strahan – The former NFL defensive end may sound like a strange choice at first, but there is some logic here. For one, he played for most of his career for the local New York Giants — second, he has an incredible wit and a sharp sense of humor. He’s a risky choice, but he could attract more of a male crowd to daytime.
Josh Groban – The singer has shown a similar sense of humor to Strahan, even though being a TV host is not his first career. Like with the two candidates listed above, Josh has also guest-hosted the show on a number of occasions in the past to great success.
At one point in time, Rob Lowe of “Parks and Recreation” was in the mix here — but apparently, he has since fallen off as a contender.
Which one of these three guys would you want to see co-host host “Live!” moving forward? Be sure to share your thoughts by leaving a comment below!
