Where is “Glee” going to go next when it comes to Naya Rivera and Kevin McHale? Based on what we are hearing now, both of the actors are going to continue to play a key role in the season — even in spite of not being a part of the New York City storyline at the moment that involves Lea Michele’s Rachel Berry.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Rivera claims that she will continue to have an important role in the show, even if she didn’t elaborate on what the role would be or how many episodes she would actually appear in. Meanwhile, McHale also says that his character and McKinley High will both still be around in a pretty major way. Does this mean appearing in every episode? We still don’t know.
If Rivera’s character of Santana does end up finding her way to New York City at some point during the new season, she says to expect plenty of fireworks:
“If she ends up going to New York, Santana will attack it head-on but probably run into a lot of issues because there’s a lot of aggressive people in New York just like her … She has rivals where ever she goes.”
Sending Santana ultimately to New York would be a move that makes some sense for the show — it would keep more of the full cast together, and allow the writers to come up with more material for a single setting rather than having to bounce back and forth between there and Louisville, where she is supposedly heading off to college to at the moment.
If you want to find out some more concrete details about season 4, stay tuned — we’ll certainly have more next week following the show’s panel discussion at Comic-Con.
