‘Basketball Wives’ Evelyn Lozada marries Chad Ochocinco

Mrs Carter: Finally we are starting to actually have some “wives” on the show.

For a show called “Basketball Wives” there are really not that many of the women who are actually married and more so even fewer that are married to actual basketball players, but when it comes to love, the title of the hit VH1 series isn’t going to pick and choose which sport the husband plays.

Fans of “Basketball Wives” have been watching reality star Evelyn Lozada plan her wedding to Miami Dolphins wide receiver Chad Ochocinco during most of season 4 of the show and while sometimes it looked like the planning wasn’t going all that well it all came together perfectly over the weekend and Evelyn and Chad had their dream wedding come to life.

The couple exchanged their wedding vows in Miami on July the 4th in front of their friends and family. Chad joked on Twitter that he chose the holiday so he’d never forget his anniversary and changed his profile picture to show off their wedding rings. The football player found himself getting a little nervous just before the ceremony and shared some of his thoughts with his Twitter followers.  He said;

“This is [BS]… I don’t recall sending the butterflies in my stomach and invite… and why am I shaking like I’m in Alaska.  #mandown”

“Live tweeting from my wedding… should be a first I’m assuming, music is playing, can’t see my guest right now but they’re here… #nervous”

“Here we go…. Proverbs 18:22… I love you guys… If I do it right the 1st time I won’t have to do it again… Turn up…”

Evelyn couldn’t hide her excitement at becoming Chad’s wife the night before their big day and poster a message on her Twitter account that read;

“Goodnight tweeps!! Tomorrow I become a “Johnson” #Goodnight.”

If you are disappointed that you didn’t get a chance to check out the wedding, don’t be – VH1 was there to film the whole thing and will be sharing their special day on their new VH1 series called “Ev and Ocho” premiering this September.
