The problem that many sci-fi/superhero shows fall into is bringing back deceased characters because they were fan favourites even when said character no longer serves an actual purpose on the show.

As great as it is to see Laurel, Snart and Reverse-Flash, these characters are dead and should remain that way.

The challenge is to introduce new characters into the mix and create fresh dymanics for viewers to get excited about.

Relying on old favorites to keep popping up not only dilutes the dramatic impact of their initial departure but also becomes a convenient crutch for writers to rely on.

I think you’re probably right — I love the Snart character, but what more do you do? Maybe there’s a Cold from another Earth that’s interesting, but that seems to be it.

It also doesn’t seem right for Rip to just fall back and play a secondary role nor does the show require two characters splitting the duties of being a Captain.

The door has been left open for him to make guest appearances which is fine should the occasion arise.

As for Snart, we don’t need to see him again. His journey on the show has ended. The character died a hero and it’s appropriate to close the chapter on that and move on.
