William and Kate are not the only Royal couple worth celebrating now — Zara Phillips, who is the granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth II, wed her longtime rugby star boyfriend Tindall Saturday in Scotland’s capital of Edinburgh.
What was particularly worth noticing on this occasion was simply how different in contrast this ceremony was from who are now the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. Phillips’ wedding ceremony was private, and the media intensity surrounding it was lessened — but it was still very much a royal affair. Among some of the notable guests were William and Kate, the Queen, Prince Harry, Prince Charles (with the Duchess of Cornwall), and of course her own parents Princess Anne and Captain Mark Phillips (who are no longer married).
For those curious about Zara, the 30-year old is one of the most notable equestrians in all of Great Britain, and due to the request of her mother at birth she does not hold any official Royal title. However, Phillips is still thirteenth in the line succession to the throne.
For those of you wondering about the dress, Phillips wore a gown by Stewart Parvin — a personal favorite of the Queen. Following the ceremony, many of the esteemed guests attending a black-tie after-party held on a Royal yacht.
Are you happy for the couple?
