Grey’s Anatomy season 13: The Matthew Morrison casting rumor
Late last week, some information surfaced (thanks to the Justin Chambers Online Twitter feed) that the former Glee star was going to be making an appearance on the show. There were some photos floating around the internet online, and Morrison himself even mentioned in an Instagram story that he was playing a doctor on his new TV gig. However, he did not say what show he was working on at the time.
TVLine floated the idea out there of Morrison playing Jo’s husband, the dangerous man whose actions made it so that Camilla Luddington’s character went into hiding and adopted a fake name in order to keep herself secret from him. She’s been worried for a while that this husband may be coming after her, which is why she was so concerned about her name getting out there in a potential Alex Karev trial. Luckily, Andrew eventually dropped some of the charges.
If this casting is in fact legit, this would certainly be a very different role for Morrison and we could understand why he’d want it. Will Schuester was such a nice, caring person, so he’d probably enjoy playing someone a little more innately evil. This also should be a meaty story if we are so close to the end of the season. It’s unfortunately too early to tell if this is a character who will only appear in an episode or two, or could recur moving forward into season 14. We gotta figure out precisely who Morrison is even playing before we get around to full-on labeling the character.
The biggest thing that we can say for now is that there is a new episode of Grey’s Anatomy airing on Thursday, and this one is especially important since it marks the directorial debut of one Ellen Pompeo. You can head over here if you haven’t seen a preview for it yet — let’s just say that all signs point towards it being an extremely important hour of TV for Maggie as she looks at this more and more as a watershed moment in her life.
