You may have heard some of the news now that the majority of all series regulars for “Glee” season 3 are coming back in some shape or form, and that Chord Overstreet is currently in talks to become a series regular for the first time. So where does that leave the two recent champions of “The Glee Project” season 1? Both Damian McGinty and Samuel Larsen each had roles of at least seven episodes, but the jury is still out on whether or not they would return for season 4.
In the deluge of news about commitments that are coming out for the fall season, the question about “The Glee Project” winners was not answered. Has a decision been made? It’s likely, but an announcement is still forthcoming as the cast gets set to start up filming again later this month. Considering that McGinty is currently taking his vacation now in Europe, he is certainly setting himself up as though he could be back for another go-around. The fate of his character Rory was specifically left up in the air as he claimed that his visa was going to be running out — though he could have just been using that so that he could go on a date with Sugar. As for Larsen, they would have to write in some sort of explanation of his character of Joe Hart is not around. The likely scenario is that they would either claim that his character moved on another school or that he is being home-schooled again.
Considering that Ryan Murphy has already said that he expects some of his “Glee Project” season 1 cast to still have a role on the show, we have a good reason to be hopeful — however, this in itself does not guarantee that both of these actors will be back.
Stay tuned — we’ll have more on this situation (along with other “Glee” news) as soon as it becomes available.
