‘Breaking Bad’ fans rejoice — AMC, AT&T strike deal

While there is still no resolution when it comes to the nasty battle that is going on between AMC and Dish Network when it comes to their programming, there is some good news for those who receive programming via AT&T — the network and the provider have reached a new carriage agreement that keeps the network on the air for the foreseeable future.

In a statement, the network was quick to praise  AT&T for their swift action — while at the same time taking a not-so-subtle dig at Dish for pulling their content off the air just weeks before “Breaking Bad” is set to air its fifth season:

“We have reached a long-term agreement with AT&T that appropriately recognizes the value of our networks and our award-winning and high-quality programming … We respect AT&T as a partner that has a genuine interest in working with us to ensure their customers continue to enjoy our programming, which includes the upcoming July 15 premiere of AMC’s Breaking Bad.”

This deal is of course reason for AT&T subscribers to celebrate, and now we just have to hope that Dish follows suit soon and ensures that the network can find its way back onto its schedule. We’re not quite sure if anyone outside of the premium cable channels is making better programming at the moment than AMC, and to have that channel go away — especially when you are paying for a package that is supposed to include it — is among the most frustrating feelings you can have as a dedicated TV viewer.
