‘Hell’s Kitchen’ and ‘MasterChef’ preview: Medics and meltdowns

Monday night’s Gordon Ramsay block on Fox has become a bit of a viewing tradition for us, and we can almost guarantee one thing with every episode of “Hell’s Kitchen” and “MasterChef” — there will be plenty of drama.

In the case of the former show this week, we have a dinner service that is so intense, it could end up leading to one person receiving medical attention. The promo below makes us absolutely terrified that this said person is going to be Kimmie — a woman who has worn her heart on her sleeve throughout the season, and has thus been a star because of it. Without her on this show, we don’t know who among the ladies we’d even root for. Then again, it’s quite possible that her receiving help from a medic is just a giant red herring to throw us off the scent of what is really going to happen during this episode. After all, “Hell’s Kitchen” story producers are repeat offenders for trickery.

Meanwhile, the remaining “MasterChef” contestants are going to be facing a unique service of their own — cooking out of food trucks.  The promo gives us the impression that there will be three separate teams squaring off in this challenge, and only one of them will likely face off in a pressure test. Before that happens, though, these home cooks better be ready for a serious tongue-lashing from Chef Ramsay when their food does not meet his high standards. However, we still think that this is the kinder, gentler Gordon — and not the one who is going to smash hot food with his bare hands or throw plates against the wall.

Be sure to check back on Monday afternoon, as we are going to have a new exclusive “MasterChef” interview with Scott, who was eliminated from the show last week.
