Seeing Alex O’Loughlin hosting an episode of Saturday Night Live would be awesome… that would be a fun episode. If they could get Betty White to host SNL, why not get Alex O’Loughlin? I’d be interested in seeing what he could bring to the show, seeing how he’s loaded with talent.

It won’t happen, NBC doesn’t choose people from other networks, especially CBS. Not sure if it would be a smart move either. Yes, SNL is having a banner year in ratings (THX to you-know-who) but except for political subjects, their writing is spotty at best. I wouldn’t want to see him struggle with poor material. I’d rather see him do talk shows! Any of them!! It’s been 2 years since he’s done any.

I don’t think Alex hosting SNL would be a good idea for Alex himself. That show is mired in controversy right now and seems completely focused on the Trump administration. It’s taken on a new bitterness and it’s not funny to a lot of people. Why would Alex want to involve himself with that and potentially alienate himself from fans? Unlike other actors who spout off on politics on social media, Alex doesn’t even have social media and stays far afield from politics. I respect him for that.
