The decisions on extras are made in the spring before production wraps,a while before the new schedules are set.The last 7 seasons of SVU have all been either 23 or 24 episodes.I hope the one they chickened out of showing before the election does show up.

I think it’s more of a scheduling thing now — plus with a small cast it’s harder to do 24.
