While there may not be huge news breaking in the world of “The Vampire Diaries” at the moment, there is still something both worth mentioning and celebrating — the first episode of season 4 has been officially been completed.
In a post on Twitter, executive producer Kevin Williamson made the announcement in a teasing way — though we all pretty honestly knew just what he was talking about:
“I’ve got a script in my hand and it has the number 401 on it. What could it be?” Of course, we know exactly what it is!”
Unfortunately, Williamson was not so kind as to offer up any additional teases about the script — including whether or not Elena is still a vampire or if finding out that she met Damon before Stefan changes her feelings in any sort of major way. For more definitive answers on this front, we’ll have to wait until the show’s official premiere on October 11 — with the only solace being that we are going to find out at least a few details before then.
Next month, the entire cast of the hit CW show will return to Atlanta to start up filming again on the series — while the time between filming and the premiere may be longer than ever, the reason for the extra wait here is so that we don’t have to suffer through as many long stretches of repeats during the actual season. After all, there’s nothing worse than a massive cliffhanger in March and then three or four weeks of re-runs.
What’s your feelings right now on the longer wait before new episodes … and do you have any predictions about season 4? Be sure to share below and check out some more of our “Vampire Diaries” coverage, including some new characters who will be turning up in Mystic Falls.
