‘Snooki & JWoww’ review: Is Roger Matthews the real star of the show?

The second episode of “Snooki & JWoww” aired on MTV Thursday night, and we have to say that it was infinitely better than the first. It didn’t waste too much time trying to make us believe that these two pals actually chose the Jersey City pad that they are living in, and it focused more instead on why these two ladies became so popular to begin with — they’re funny.

What surprised us even more than the improvement this week, though, was seeing the rise in JWoww’s boyfriend Roger Matthews as one of the chief stars of the show. The guy is just supremely entertaining — and one of the few reality stars we have seen who probably acts the same way in real life as he does on the show. Even if he and Jenni do not always agree on everything — and they really don’t — you can see that they really do love each other. That love is obviously also there between Snooki and Jionni LaValle, but he doesn’t quite pop off of the TV quite as much — he’s pretty much the opposite of Snooki in every way other than his height, and the two really manage to balance each other out perfectly.

When it comes to the actual content of this episode, there wasn’t much that actually happened (which is the same criticism we gave to “The Pauly D Project” at times) — the girls moved in, and then JWoww and Roger fought over Jionni’s bachelor party that is probably not going to happen for at least another year and a half. We actually think that JWoww has a point here in not wanting Roger to be at a club getting grinded on by some “dancer” — what we don’t understand is why Jionni didn’t just decide to do something else for the event.

What did you think about the second episode of the show, and are you in agreement with us when it comes to Roger being a bona fide reality TV star? Be sure to leave a comment int he box below and tell us what you think.
