It tied together an impressive number of elements from the past and made them relevant. The actors were in fine form and the moments with Damon and Bonnie and Damon and Stefan were fantastic.

Fantastic episode with fantastic acting all around! I said that if they give the characters an opportunity for redemption all would be forgiven for the crappier moments in the first half of this season. So glad that Julie and the writers get that forgiveness is the key. Now I have great hope for the rest of the season and for the series ending as it should. This has to be one of the most important episodes of the entire series. I love my TVD again! My grade for this episode is A+
