We have already begun to detail in depth Yvonne Strahovski’s character on “Dexter” season 7 in Hannah, so isn’t it time that Ray Stevenson also gets his due? While we are still holding out hope that the “Chuck” alum will be some sort of secret villain, the former “Rome” actor seems to have the role pegged just based on the description of his character — who we now know is named Isaac.
As a part of the new issue of TV Guide, executive producer Sara Colleton was kind enough to give up the following details — which help to link Stevenson to at least one other guest star (and potentially many series regulars) coming up this season:
“We have Ray Stevenson … he is such a fantastic actor. He plays the head of a crime syndicate who owns many nightclubs in Miami. Jason Gedrick plays George, the U.S. manager of all of his clubs. Ray Stevenson’s character, Isaac, comes to Miami when his very close personal lieutenant is accused of killing a Miami cop and then suddenly disappears. So Isaac wants to find out what happened to his friend and how he disappeared. The fact that it was a cop will bring them all around the Miami Metro police system. That is going to be a long story arc.”
The fact that the police are already involved does also mean that we will likely give the police that much more motivation to prosecute this lieutenant, and this could shape up to be a rather interesting battle across all of the ranks. Considering that we haven’t heard much of what Batista and Quinn are going to be up to this coming season, let’s hope that this storyline is somehow involves them. After all, there’s only so many times we can get by watching Quinn booze up and make an idiot out of himself. It’s time that he proves yet again just how he got to the position that he did in Miami Metro despite all of his unethical behavior.
Who do you think makes for a more enticing Big Bad on this show — Stevenson or Isaac? “Dexter” premieres September 30, and be sure to check out some of our other coverage for the show.
