Looking at the rest of Fox’s schedule, it has quite a few shows that bring in lower ratings. For example, just compare it to Rosewood, another show in its 2nd season, but it has completely collapsed since leaving Wednesdays. Modest but steady is better than declining, so Lucifer should get a 3rd season.
