The CW fall premiere dates: ‘Hart of Dixie,’ ‘The Vampire Diaries,’ and more

The roll-out stars in early October.

Want to know when some of your favorite CW shows are coming back? Luckily, you’re not going to be waiting any longer! On Thursday, the network unveiled a schedule that moved its entire lineup back to October as a way of shortening their season, which in turn will give them a higher ratio of new episodes to repeats than any of their other competitors in primetime. Will that actually lead to more people watching? That is the issue currently up for debate.

Check out the full schedule below, and feel free to share your comments and thoughts about whether or not this new plan will work.

Tuesday, October 2

8:00 p.m. – “Hart of Dixie

Wednesday, October 3

9:00 – “Supernatural”

Monday, October 8

8:00 – “90210”

9:00 – “Gossip Girl”

Wednesday, October 10

8:00 – “Arrow” (new series)

9:00 – “Supernatural”

Thursday, October 11

8:00 – “The Vampire Diaries

9:00 – “Beauty and the Beast” (new show)

Tuesday, October 16

9:00 – “Emily Owens, M.D.” (new show)

Friday, October 19

8:00 – “America’s Next Top Model: College Edition”

9:00 – “Nikita”

Overall, this schedule is far more appetizing than the one we saw from the network last year — mostly in that it now seems to have every night figured out except for Fridays, which really make no sense whatsoever in that it feels like producers just threw two shows against a wall in hopes that one of them sticks. “Supernatural” is probably the biggest winner thanks to its new timeslot, and there really aren’t any individual losers in regard to shows.

What do you think about this schedule, and do you think some of these shows will actually help to pull The CW out of their rut? Also, be sure to check out the premiere schedules for both NBC and Fox.
