‘The Bachelor’ spotlight: Meet Jasmine Goode, Golden State Warriors dancer and ‘female Guy Fieri’

Jasmine -We’re always going to prefer spotlighting contestants for “The Bachelor” when they try to bring entertainment to their bios, and with that, we’ll give Jasmine Goode some credit for being at the very least interesting. The moment that she compared herself to chef, TV personality, and Donkey Sauce extraordinaire Guy Fieri we were both excited and terrified. As the female version of him, is she going to step out at some point wearing bowling shirts with fire designs on them? Is she going to frost her hair? We will say that the one part of Fieri’s job we envy is him being able to travel all over the country and eat other people’s tasty food for “Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives.”

Anyway, before we get even further down this particular rabbit hole, let’s take a look at what Jasmine, the second person with this name this season, has to offer Nick Viall.

Age – 29. She’s one of the older people on this season, which is super-disappointing given that Nick is 36. Would it have killed the producers to give us 10-15 people in the 29-35 range?

Occupation – Basketball dancer. She’s recently been a part of the Golden State Warriors dance team, which probably is a great gig given that, to quote a recent song, all they do is win. She’s also been a Dallas Cowboy cheerleader, another pretty good gig given that they’re one of the most famous cheer squads in the world.

As for how of this applies to “The Bachelor” … at least we know she’s going to have a lot of enthusiasm!

Location – San Francisco, California. Makes sense, given that the Warriors play in the Bay Area.

Things to know – We’ve already went through some of her dance history, but one thing to remember in particular with being a Cowboys cheerleader is that she’s probably had a chance to do a lot of traveling and be exposed to a certain degree of fame before. She may be a little more accustomed to being in an entertainment-based environment than some of the other contestants. She also loves RuPaul, Dave Chappelle, and the late Prince, who are three pretty-awesome people to admire.

Now … we have to get to the part of the spotlight where we are yet again shocked that EVERY PERSON ON THIS SEASON WANTS TO BE OLIVIA POPE. She mentions that under the “if you were a fictional character, who would you be?” section of her bio. We’ve already speculated (jokingly) that ABC used bribes to cross-promote the season 6 premiere of “Scandal” through these bios; we’re now starting to wonder if indoctrination and brainwashing was also a part of their game (also just a joke).

How is she actually going to do? – One thing that we do think could trip up Jasmine is something that also impacts many models on this season. She’s used to getting a lot of attention from men given her profession; what happens when the tables are turned? Nick has 29 other women to give attention to, and the culture-shock that could come from this makes it hard for us to put Jasmine as a serious contender. We could see her getting closed off and being sent home within the first three or four weeks.
