I'm a little late to the party but since no one has mentioned this theory yet: My guess is that they're going to follow the book a bit and have Vic lose the baby from a stabbing. They'll probably do it early and the aftermath is what will bring her and Walt together over the season. The way they portrayed the last scene between Walt and Donna, him saying they met at the wrong time, I took that as an end to the Walt/Donna relationship.

As well in the books, Walt has always meant to retire with two years left on his term leaving the office to Vic, so that she has a chance to prove herself before having to openly run. Maybe they'll end it with Walt retiring with Vic taking over as Sheriff, thus leaving them open to having a relationship since they don't work together anymore.

I would not like to see Vic and Walt together for a number of reasons. I am surprised that the writer's painted themselves into a corner with the pregnancy. It will make things a lot more difficult in the office; Walt may be gone - can Vic step in if she's "with child" (thanks, Travis)? I just think the whole pregnancy thing was really too off the cuff.

Not every woman needs a man to raise a child. Travis is sweet but a bit of a dolt and Eamonn seems to be out of the pictures unless they bring him back. Either way, there wasn't much of a romantic connection with either of them aside from apparently really good sex. It just seems like the whole pregnancy arc will take away from the final season in which we get a last chance to spend some quality time with and see growth from everyone.

This is going to be a toughy. Having an intraoffice love affair is a very bad thing, especially considering that it is basically employer/employe; I see no way Walt and Vic becoming a pair, though they could have some wonderful sex. When we left Vic in Season 5, she was pregnant and we are left to our own thoughts as to the father, so what does she do in the final Season 6? I think the writers left the entire cast in a difficult position with story line deviations that are not going to be easy or comfortable to end.

Does Vic stay with the father, have their baby, and remain a deputy in Wyoming? Does she run for and become the Sheriff of Absaroka County because Walt is "beat up" and financially destroyed in the resolution of his lawsuit? Or does she chuck the whole thing and return to the Moretti family in Philly?

What of The Ferg? The writers have never given him much attention; after five seasons, he still carries a revolver and remains a very narrow, undeveloped character (though the actor is certainly capable of bringing life to his character); heck, his name has still not even moved up on the board outside the office! The writers missed their chance here.

And what of the Native American characters? They have become law breaking criminals, far from what they started as.

I am not sure Season 6 will be as good as the others.
