“The Vampire Diaries” lost one popular face in Alaric during the season 3 finale, and Klaus is also going to be temporarily indisposed (at least in physical form) courtesy of him being trapped in Tyler’s body. Even though there are probably enough characters already in the show’s universe to make up for these absences, isn’t it always nice to see a few new people added to the mix? At least it is if they are good.
According to Zap2It, the following two new characters will be making their presence felt early on in season 4:
April – A 16-year old girl who grew up in Mystic Falls, but went away for a couple of years while she was at private school. Does this seem like an obvious Jeremy love interest to anyone else? This may be the easy conclusion to jump to, but it’s not that easy — as a matter of fact, April is going to be a character who is far more than meets the eye. Let’s just hope she is not supernatural — we already have enough of those on this show now.
Connor – He’s a bad boy who is being described as a “killing machine,” and we are already starting to wonder if he is going to be the new Alaric minus some of the softer side we saw from the character before he transformed near the end of season 3. It does make sense, though, for the show to have another potential male villain, since Klaus is probably going to be too busy macking on Caroline inside of Tyler’s body to really cause much in the way of serious trouble. If Connor is a vampire hunter, then it could mean trouble for our new baby vampire in Elena.
Stay tuned, as we will have more on casting for these characters as soon as we find out more. Are there any actors that you have in mind for these roles?
