“The X Factor” has finally arrived on the east coast, and on Wednesday the audition rounds in America began taping yet again in the city of Providence, Rhode Island. A massive crowd gathered outside of the Dunkin’ Donuts Center in the tiny state’s largest city, which is set to be the hub for pretty much everyone across the New England area. Providence is a new city when it comes to the reality TV audition world, so hopefully this will help to bring in some new talent rather than the same people who have been told “no” on dozens of other singing competition.
You can check out a video of L.A. Reid, Britney Spears, and Demi Lovato all arriving to the arena below — and the photo attached to this article clearly shows Britney both elated and ready for the day.
While we have heard whispers here and there about Britney being a tough judge and about Demi constantly arguing with Simon Cowell, Fox has yet to release a single bit of actual audition footage for the show just yet. When they do, you have to believe that it is going to all over the internet in a matter of seconds. Even if we don’t know whether or not the judging changes will help out the show’s ratings at all, we can at least say that the presence of Spears alone has made the audition rounds of a talent competition actually seem relevant. There’s also a greater sense of excitement about these than with the “American Idol” auditions, mostly because the judges actually don’t meet as many singers as we see present in the arenas on TV.
Do you find yourself much more excited for the show this year, or do Spears and Lovato just cover up a larger problem in that there are too many shows like this on TV?
