Have just found the most-anticipated panel of all coming up at Comic-Con next month? We’re sure betting on it.
As a way to celebrate the show’s ten-year anniversary of coming on the air, the cast of the cult hit show “Firefly” is going to be reuniting (per The Hollywood Reporter) on Saturday, July 14 for a candid panel at the convention’s Ballroom 20 that will include some discussion along with some never-before-seen goodies in relation to the show. The panel is being put on by the Science Channel, who now broadcasts repeats of the short-lived series — which unfortunately found most of its fan following after it was pulled from the air.
While many of the cast members from the show have made appearances at the convention before, the last time there was anything close to an official reunion was when “Serenity” was promoted at the convention back in 2005. Nathan Fillion and Adam Baldwin have been frequent attenders of the event thanks to other shows, and Summer Glau and Jewel Staite also have a similar sort of appearance pattern.
For fans hoping to see a revival of the show, we’re sure the questions will be asked all over again — though it may be hard to logistically make it work now that Fillion is on “Castle” full-time, Baldwin has a gig on “Leverage” coming up, and Morena Bacarin now is getting some rave reviews for her part on “Homeland.” Thanks to the runaway success of “The Avengers,” Joss Whedon is also now one of the hottest commodities in the business. Even with all this in mind, though, isn’t it nice to dream?
The Science Channel will also have a panel Friday night for their show “Dark Matters: Twisted but True,” and it will feature host John Noble of “Fringe” along with the show’s executive producers.
