The good news just keeps coming when it comes to season 4 of “The Good Wife.” Only a day after it was first revealed that both Marc Webber and Maura Tierney were going to have extended guest arcs on the Emmy-winning series, producers have now brought on another name who should ring a bell to many TV fans.
CBS announced on Tuesday that Emmy winner Kristin Chenoweth (“Glee, “Pushing Daisies,” and most recently “GCB”) has been booked for an arc as a reporter trying to dig up information on Peter and his campaign — including his relationship with Julianna Margulies’ Alicia. She is going to waste no time when it comes to gathering information, and will first appear in the season 4 premiere.
This role marks a turn of sorts for Chenoweth, whose roles are generally are over-the-top creations for comedy series. “GCB” was canceled after just a few months on the air, and as sad as that may have been, this role gives her an opportunity to delve right back into TV with a show that has brought acclaim to the likes of Michael J. Fox, Martha Plimpton, Matthew Perry, and Lisa Edelstein. In other words, has there ever been a guest cast for a show quite as impressive as this one?
There has been no announced premiere date just yet for season 4, but expect the show to return to CBS on Sunday nights at some point in late September. Considering that football tends to delay a good portion of new episodes, also be sure to bring plenty of patience.
