Ever since the season 3 finale of “The Good Wife” aired last month, we all knew that we would be finally getting the opportunity to meet Kalinda’s estranged husband when the show picked up in the fall. Now, we know just who has landed what is expected to be a rather prestigious part moving forward.
According to a report from TVLine, British actor Marc Warren has been cast for the role, which is likely to be some sort of extended arc since this character is not the sort of problem that Kalinda can really be expected to get away from in a short amount of time. After all, he has spent most of this series so far haunting her from afar. It’s actually a surprising move that producers for the CBS drama went with more of an unknown for the part, mostly because they have made such a habit in the past of casting people with built-in fanbases for guest arcs (see Matthew Perry and Lisa Edelstein for prime examples).
In speaking of familiar faces who are coming on board the show next season, the website is also reporting that “The Whole Truth” and “ER” actress Maura Tierney has signed on for a role as a billionaire technology mogul who could end up playing a major role in Peter’s gubernatorial campaign. As expected, Eli is going to make a rather hard sell in order to get her on board as a donor.
There is no announced premiere date just yet for season 4 of the show, but stay tuned — we’ll have more scoop as it breaks.
