While Dianna Agron’s Quinn Fabray has already graduated from high school on “Glee,” producers for the hit Fox series are not apparently done just yet when it comes to having a character that fits into that all-important role.
According to a report from Zap2It, Ryan Murphy and company are currently casting a season 4 part for a 16-year old student who is not only a blonde, but who also has quite a nasty attitude to go along with it. Based on the hope that the character has some pretty great dance moves, it’s possible that they could also be a member of the Cheerios.
When we first heard the word “blonde,” we immediately wanted to cast Shanna from “The Glee Project” in the role. However, the fact that this role is being leaked to the press suggests that they are looking for someone for the part who we haven’t seen just yet, and if Shanna ends up winning the show she will play someone else.
Once we find out more about this new character, it’s pretty likely that we will then realize that they are in fact nothing like Quinn. It’s just easy to jump to that conclusion based on the initial casting notice — but we are still confident that Ryan is not interested in just taking the show down familiar territory. With New Directions transforming following season 3, the possibilities there are infinite.
There is an option for this character to become a series regular if things work out all right, but for now they will simply be recurring — which is what a number of “Glee” actors were when they were first hired (including Heather Morris and Darren Criss).
Do you have any casting suggestions for this role, and do you think we need another snarky blonde at McKinley following Quinn’s graduation or is it time for something new and fresh?
