The Halloween party girls was specifically to contrast the effort people go to to get all dressed up for weekends out only to end up drinking too much and completely ruining the point. In our immature years we tend to think of ourselves as getting ready to go out and have a great time, but we’re kidding ourselves; we’re going to get hammered and embarrass ourselves.
The older you are the more you appreciate this skit. My halloweens consist of giving out candy to neighborhood children and trying not to come off like David pumpkins.

The best overall episode yet this season, Hanks helped a lot, and I think the best debate cold open yet as well.

That Black Jeopardy sketch though! This is shaking up to be a great SNL tonight. But how was there no “I’m the captain now” line in the airline sketch?
