For the 2012 Daytime Emmy Awards Saturday night, the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences wanted to make sure that one of the biggest names in the history of television was not forgotten. In the wake of his departure from his longtime post in the morning, Regis Philbin and “Live! with Regis and Kelly” ended up winning a pair of the night’s top awards.
As for the daytime dramas, the dearly departed “One Life to Live” and “All My Children” ended up losing out to the remaining ABC series in “General Hospital.” Could this be another reason for the network to keep it around moving forward?
