The last time there was someone related to “Dancing with the Stars” make a crossover to “The Bachelor” franchise, it was Maskim Chmerkovskiy on the Ukrainian version of the show. Now, someone else who has made their living as a pro dancer is interested in signing up — though this time, the hope is that she would stay put and keep her search for love in America. Speaking to People Magazine, Cheryl Burke (who danced most recently with Latin star William Levy) explained why exactly that she was interested in giving the show a chance after having some experience in the dating world:
“My dating record hasn’t been great the past couple of years so if I have a chance to go on [The Bachelorette] I will … I’m getting old, you know, so it’s something of interest to me.”
Could Burke actually be a great leading lady on the show? We think so! Chris Harrison has said for a while that it would do the show some good to have fresh blood, and this would be a cool crossover move for ABC’s Monday-night lineup. Not only could “The Bachelorette” pull some fans of the ballroom competition in, but the devoted fans would be just as likely to stay put as they would with another contestant from a past season. Cheryl’s clearly talented has a great onscreen presence — she’s also tough enough to whip some of the bad boys on her potential season into shape. It’s always easier to plan a season when you know that the lead is someone you will root for — and Cheryl has so much history on television now that we know producers would have nothing to worry about.
