Based on the fact that Showtime didn’t bother to even put the show’s logo on here, it’s fair to say that they are relying on this point that Michael C. Hall’s face is enough to make people know exactly what they are talking about. This image looks as though it could have even come off the actual teaser itself, and it clearly shows that Dexter Morgan is not exactly in the middle of a stress-free time in his life.
As for “the moment of truth,” this should be fairly obvious — while there is still a story beyond what is happening between Deb and Dexter this season, the revelation that she now knows his secret is going to be a driving force in how the story carried on over the course of the coming weeks. As for how she is going to react, that will be a driving force through the season premiere. We predict that Dexter will still continue to be involved in cases for Miami Metro, but it’s not going to be the same dynamic that it once was. (At least now Deb knows why her brother is routinely late and misses out on half of every event she is involved with.)
While this is indeed the beginning for Deb and Dexter’s new relationship, there are still other “moments of truth” that are going to be coming up eventually. For example, is he ever going to open up to Harrison about why he is away so much? Raising a child is not easy — but when you are hiding a secret about killing people, we have a feeling it’s just a smidgen more difficult.
What do you think of the poster’s simple (but yet complex) look?
