Showtime has released yet another new teaser for season 7 of “Dexter” — and this time, we actually had a few soundbites from the upcoming premiere.
In the video below, you can hear Dexter try and reassure Deb that it is him while she orders him to get away from the body. In following this up, you can hear Deb utter “Jesus, Dexter” near the end. All of this leads us to believe that Jennifer Carpenter’s character is going to at least try to get past seeing him kill Travis Marshall inside of the abandoned church. (This church is getting the rare “Dexter” honor of being a location used for more than one season that is not Dexter’s apartment or Miami Metro.)
Unfortunately, there’s not the same sort of excitement here in the trailer from a visual standpoint. Instead, all we have are some rather still images of Dexter and Deb against a gray background. It’s not necessarily the most exciting teaser in the history of cable TV, but we do have to say that it’s far better than the black-and-red teaser that was first unveiled by Showtime earlier in the spring.
Season 7 of “Dexter” currently is set to premiere on Sunday, September 30 at 9:00 p.m. Eastern, and it will be followed up by the premiere of the critical favorite “Homeland.” Let’s just hope that the grand “Dexter” reveal with Deb manages to win over some people after season 6 turned out to be a bit of a disappointment.
