Mrs. Carter: It’s taken a long time, but Jon and Kate Gosselin are finally starting to break the ice.
Three years after the couple first announced on the now-canceled “Jon and Kate Plus 8” that they were separating, Jon is the one who has decided to try and rebuild some of the bridges that were once burned to ash — and then burned some more. Speaking to People Magazine, Jon acknowledged that he did not handle the split in the right way, as he followed up their breakup with dating some hard-partying young ladies including Hailey Glassman, the daughter of Kate’s plastic surgeon.
“I am sorry, because I did stuff I wouldn’t want done to me … I was passive-aggressive. Then I’d get mad, but I was the one who wasn’t communicating.”
Hopefully, this amicable attitude (which includes Jon referring to his ex as a “great mom”) will allow for a greater sense of trust to be built between the two parties. With this, Kate may be able to immerse herself more in the world of television after a year away. We recently put her on our shortlist for desired “Celebrity Apprentice” contestants, and she may be able to handle the separation from her family if she knows that her children are being cared for without any problems.
As for Jon, he has taken a full-time job and doesn’t seem to be interested in returning to television in the near future. Then again, he has been out of the spotlight largely for two years now, and he is at least living closer now to his family than he once was.
Do you think Jon and Kate improving their relationship does bode well for one of them to return to TV at some point?
