For this Thursday morning edition of “American Idol” notes, we have a couple of big announcements concerning upcoming TV appearances for a pair of show alum outside of the United States — but we will begin with another injury update courtesy of Phillip Phillips.
How’s Phillip doing now? – After making his first appearance at a rehearsal for the upcoming season 11 tour, Phillip told People Magazine that he is still not 100% yet following kidney surgery. However, it sounds like he was thrilled to be at the tour’s media day if for no other reason than that it has helped him from losing his mind while trapped inside of a Malibu house:
“I still love to sleep, but it’s been kind of hectic … I’ve kind of been going crazy just looking at the four walls surrounding me.”
The one thing Phillip has going for him now is that he has over another week to rest up before hitting the road, and the fact that he is already at least able to travel and strum a few notes on the guitar is a pretty welcome sign that he is heading in the right direction.
Adam Lambert appearing on “Graham Norton” – Fans of Adam Lambert better mark their schedules — he is going to continue his UK publicity tour Thursday with an appearance on Graham Norton’s popular chat show.
While the show is being taped today, it will air Friday night across the pond on BBC One. We’re going to try to provide some impressions from the interview — and if nothing else, we will hopefully have some video once it is online. Let’s just hope it fares better than when Russell Brand accused Norton of “making his mum cry” last week when he brought up Katy Perry during an interview.
Carrie Underwood appearing on “ET Canada” – As for Carrie Underwood, she is set to sit down for a personal interview on the Canadian version of “Entertainment Tonight” Monday, July 2. The interview will air on Global north of the border, and hopefully (like with the Adam interview above) there will be a video released at some point after it happens.
As always, check back for more of the latest “Idol” news!
