We’ve spent the last several weeks lamenting the loss of creator Dan Harmon from “Community,” but eventually, the show does have to go on for the Critics’ Choice Award-winning comedy.
So what is going to be coming up for season 4? Considering that we do have a new showrunning team of David Guarascio and Moses Port, the plot details have not yet been revealed. However, it’s not too early to at least start talking about what one of the actors would like to see. Speaking to TVLine while at the awards show earlier this week, Danny Pudi offered up both his thoughts on Harmon’s exit, and what could be coming up for Abed in the future:
“I never knew what the season was going to be like with Dan … It was always a surprise, which is what I loved. Now it’s just a different surprise. I think a lot of our questions are going be answered with the first script we get, which will be in August. I think a lot of us are very excited to read that first script and see where we’re at.
“I’m excited to see Abed’s filmmaking … How has it progressed over another summer and another couple of classes? My pitch is to see maybe a couple films Abed worked on over the summer.”
While most shows are starting up production in July, the August start date has a good bit to do with “Community” not premiering until October. This gives the new showrunners an opportunity to develop their ideas, and for the cast and crew to get accustomed to working with them.
Hopefully, we will find out more about season 4 at the show’s Comic-Con panel in July, which may end up featuring all seven members of the Greendale study group.
With Harmon gone, where do you want to see the show go?
