Ratings: NBA Finals swallows ‘MasterChef,’ ‘Love in the Wild’

It’s still hovering over a 2.0.

Thanks in part to the NBA Finals dominating just about everything on the schedule Monday night, there wasn’t much in the way of new episodes on the schedule. However, Gordon Ramsay once again proved that he can retain viewers like nobody’s business with his block of cooking shows.

Fox – “Hell’s Kitchen” managed to stay steady at a 2.2 rating in the 18-49 demographic, as it aired before tip-off of the game between the Miami Heat and Oklahoma City Thunder. However, the game did cause “MasterChef” to drop to a season-low 2.0.

Will these two shows recover? Bet on it — next week (pending a potential Game 7) the basketball competition will be gone, and viewers will be more spread out across the board.

NBC – With a 1.3, “Love in the Wild” hit a brand-new season low — which just goes to show that hiring someone famous a la Jenny McCarthy cannot save a show that few people want to watch to begin with. This number will probably also increase next week without the competition.

The CW – At first glance, the season-high 0.4 rating for “The Catalina” is excellent. However, a major affiliate in Chicago chose to air a baseball game instead, and this number is likely to be adjusted down drastically once the final numbers are released a little later in the day. Let’s just enjoy it while it lasts, shall we?

What did you watch Tuesday, and do you think all of these shows are going to increase once there is less competition from basketball?
