On Sunday night, HBO gave a fond farewell to their series “The Night Of,” which was by most accords a fantastic journey through one man’s arrest, time in prison, and eventual trial. However, we’re not going to pretend that the finale was universally praised, because it wasn’t. As a matter of fact, you’ll see within our final podcast for the season that one of us (in Matt Carter and Jason Prager) didn’t really care for the episode at all.
Below, you can see us talk about all of the different moments that were present during the finale, including some of the ones we really enjoyed, and some of the ones we still question. While our opinions on the episode diverge significantly, there is one point that we both agree on: Why didn’t the show give us a little more explanation as to how Ray Halle or someone else could have committed Andrea’s murder?
We don’t spend all of our time exclusively talking about the finale, as we also go briefly into some speculation about what a second season could be, who could return for it, and even whether or not it’s a good idea. To be fair, HBO has not even announced a season 2 renewal just yet, but we have to assume that there are at least conversations taking place given the level of success this time around.
In the end, this is our last rodeo for “The Night Of,” but you better believe we’re going to have a whole lot more in the podcasting realm over the course of the year. Follow our official podcast Twitter to get some more updates on that.
