Who ever knew that a Senate recall election would end up becoming so controversial? A group called “Citizens for a Stronger America” (which is about as generic of a name as you can probably come up with when it comes to a group) uses a voice that sounds very much like Academy Award-winning actor Morgan Freeman and his role from “The Shawshank Redemption.”
However, there’s a problem — the voice is not Morgan Freeman. The actor’s rep quickly took to the internet to ease any confusion:
“A political ad running in Wisconsin by a conservative group narrated by someone trying to sound like Morgan Freeman was not narrated by Mr. Freeman. Morgan Freeman did NOT narrate that ad.”
Thanks to his narrating a number of documentaries and commercials over the years, Freeman has become well known for having one of the most distinctive voices in America — so whenever anyone tries to emulate it, of course he is going to take notice.
Should this group stop using this ad, since largely they are trying to capitalize on Freeman’s famous voice?
