“Game of Thrones” managed to move up in the ratings for its second season — and now, it is getting an upgrade of its own at Comic-Con in July.
On Tuesday, HBO announced that the hit fantasy series would be returning to the popular convention on Friday, July 13. As for the upgrade, it will be held in the enormous Hall H for the first time. This venue is typically reserved for the biggest shows of the convention, and this year it will also play home to the panel for “Fringe” leading up to its final season.
As for another network series in “True Blood,” a number of key cast members will be present for a panel on Saturday, July 14 in Ballroom 20. Neither show has announced yet just who will be attending, though it will probably be a collection of series regulars mixed with showrunners and a few notable guest stars. These panels are generally a ton of fun, mostly because the cast is forced to spend a great deal of time together while filming and they have a ton of fun stories to share. (However, don’t ask about spoilers — that’s the one thing you’re not likely to get.)
“True Blood” is currently airing its fifth season — meanwhile, “Game of Thrones” will start off production on season 3 this fall, and will premiere yet again in the spring of 2013. (Let’s hope that the ratings continue to climb!)
Which panel at the convention are you more excited to see? Stay tuned — we’ll have more details on participants as soon as it is announced.
