We have plenty to talk about with our Tuesday afternoon edition of “American Idol” notes, but we will begin with what is breaking news when it comes to Jessica Sanchez — she’s going to be doing a solo tour of her own in the Philippines!
More details -According to a new report from the Philippine Daily Inquirer, the season 11 superstar is going to be embarking on a five-city tour of her own in October, just a matter of weeks after the rest of her fellow contestants from season 11 perform with her for a show on September 21. The tour will take her to Manila, Bataan, Ganuio, Cebu, and Davao — and she should probably get ready to see some huge crowds considering her massive popularity in the country.
Jessica’s mother hails from the island country, so there’s no doubt that performing there for an extended period of time will be something she values deeply. An official announcement is still forthcoming, but we will let you know when the news comes out.
Update: A rep for 19 Entertainment is now saying that the reports of a Philippines tour are untrue.
Scotty helps with season 12 – The “American Idol” auditions are continuing in the city of Charlotte this week, and they had some help courtesy of someone who knows the state of North Carolina rather well — Scotty McCreery.
In a post on Twitter, the Garner native announced that he was going to be stopping by to help Ryan Seacrest in some capacity with the auditions (probably to encourage people to follow their dreams or something like that). Local reports are claiming that there was somewhere around 5,000 people in attendance — which is impressive, but not exactly the biggest number ever to try out for this show. We really have a feeling that all of these auditions are really wearing the talent pool a little bit thin.
Carrie performs for the BBC – Do we want another performance from Carrie Underwood? Let’s hope so. The season 4 champ is in London preparing for a major concert event at the Royal Albert Hall, and she took the opportunity to perform her brand-new single “Blown Away” while on BBC’s morning Breakfast program.
As always, stay tuned for more “American Idol” news!
