The season premiere of “The Night Of” arrived with a flourish on Sunday night, and it gave us as a result a whole wide array of material to talk about. It was a masterclass in storytelling, but was it the greatest show we’ve seen in ages? That is one of many subjects that we take on in the latest edition of our official podcast all about the show.
In the video / audio below, you can hear CarterMatt Co-Founder Matt Carter and Jason Prager go through some of what worked in the extended premiere, what could use a little work, and also discuss some early theories as to wither or not Nasir a.k.a. Naz was really responsible for the murder at the center of the show. They also touch briefly on the show’s history, and how James Gandolfini was originally going to be the star in the John Stone role.
Hopefully, this podcast will serve as a nice companion for you if you enjoyed the premiere — there’s also some Emmy and “Hannibal” talk in here, mostly because why not?
On a programming note, this podcast is coming a little bit later in the week than the majority of them are going to. We’re planning for now to have the rest of the episodes available on Mondays. Also, apologies for some of the static that comes in midway through. We think there may have been an issue with the Google Hangout recording, so we’re working to fix that for Mondays.
