Being a reality star definitely has its fair share of benefits — you get a great salary, instant superstardom, and a platform that you can use to promote your own brand and make even more money for yourself. However, it also puts you at risk of a number of different things — including haters and opportunists who realize that they may be able to squeeze some cash out of you by coaxing you into doing something you wouldn’t normally do.
At the moment, “Jersey Shore” star Ronnie Magro appears to be the victim of this very thing. According to a report from TMZ, a man named Justin Vigerito has filed battery claims against the buff member of the cast after he claims that he was punched in the face several times by Ronnie after he tried to stop some sort of fight. Vigerito claims that the fight at the bar Bamboo (which is traditionally a popular hotspot for the show’s cast) was started after he and a friend named Devon tried to hang out with the “Jersey Shore” crew, and were instead pushed away. (There is a massive entourage surrounding the cast at all times, so it’s hard to say who really did the pushing here.)
We have heard very different stories about this fight already, with other sources saying that Ronnie and some of the other male cast members went after Vigerito after he and his friend made some nasty comments about the cast. Considering that cameras were present to film the entire scene for the MTV show’s upcoming sixth season, we do have a feeling that we will have some sort of answer concerning who actually started the fight when this airs later in the year.
This is not the first time during filming that a cast member has faced some potential trouble with the law, as Deena Cortese was arrested earlier this month after being drunk and disorderly in the street.
Do you think Ronnie was really at fault here, or are we looking at yet another situation of people complaining just to make a quick buck?
